Chainlink Bee Hive - Europe 1

It's never a good idea to start sewing late at night.... 

I made a mistake and added too much green. 

O well, tomorrow is another day with a new chance to make it correct :-) 

Maybe Siobhan can use it on the back of the quilt.

Stash Bee Hive #12

This year I'm participating in a Bee Hive from Stash Bee. 

The January block is a PP (paper pieced) block...oops!!! 

I have never PP before so I was a little bit intimidated to begin.

I asked Mr Quilts n Stuff to print the template on 'actual size'....you've guessed; 

he didn't so my first ever PP project turned out too small :-(

After printing the template again I made two blocks, one for the the Bee and one extra just to practice PP.

this block is too small :-(

and these blocks are just fine!!!

I don't think I like the PP technique; it has a lot of  cutting and since I have joint problems

 my wrists are hurting after sewing 2 (and a half) block....

New hype; Dutch Crochet Along (CAL)

Maybe you have heard of the new hype in blogland and on FB; the Crochet Along!

Terray started a Dutch Crochet Along of the as-we-go-stripey-blanket.

 

I joined too and I'm using my Catania cotton stash :-)

These are the colors I'm going to use.

Week 1

 

The Original pattern is for a blanket, but I'm going for 4 pillow covers.

I will make 2 with the stripes which are posted now each Friday and when they are the right size I will start 2 new ones with the stripes posted later on in the Crochet Along.

My blocks for January. Zusje B asked us to make a HUGE block this time, it's 17,5 inch :-)

Roses for Ayla

I started a new quilt for my Daughter Ayla. It will be a quilt with roses.
The blocks are 11 inch and the circles are sewn by hand on the blocks.
I also have another background fabric; white on white polka dots.
I will hand quilt a circle around the circle with a different colors of pink embroidery floss.

Crochet throw finished

The trow I started way back is finished!

It's lying on the sofa an used very well :-)
